// 845.371.2222 THE SMALL THINGS: A REGISTRAR’S IMPACT I’m not a therapist or provider, but a lot of our patients have become like friends over the years, especially when they come in for weekly or monthly appointments. As a registrar, I get to see the very beginning of each patient’s journey with us - and how sometimes, small gestures can make a big difference. One encounter that stands out was with a patient who was very anxious about her appointment. I took a moment to explain our check-in process, offer reassurance, and make sure she felt comfortable before meeting her provider. She later called just to say thank you, saying how comfortable I made her and how I helped ease her nerves. Another memorable experience was with a patient who, during check-in for his first evaluation, discovered that his insurance was showing as inactive. He was understandably anxious and unsure of what to do next. I took the time to work through the issue, contacting the insurance company and making sure everything was resolved so his care could continue without delay. Over the years, I’ve seen this same patient return and make incredible progress. Recently, I told him how wonderful it’s been to see how far he’s come and how proud I am of his growth. These experiences show how meaningful it is to be part of a team that values kindness and care at every step. - K.
