OCT. 22 ‘25 // Window A/C Storage Hello Csay Readers, I hope it’s been a beautiful and simcha’dig yom tov for all! It’s not easy to deal with the sudden landing of a regular routine. The trees are changing colors, and the air is quickly turning nippy and cool. As we transition, putting t-shirts away (or in the garbage) and pulling cozy sweaters and coats out, the air conditioning is getting ready for a well-deserved break. If you have central cooling, this is not a process. For those with window air conditioners, hauling them out of the windows and storing them for the winter nearly rivals shlepping those succah panels out to the shed or up to the attic. How do we ensure that these a/c units remain in great condition until next year? Is there a recommended storing method or temperature? Does keeping them in the window box affect their quality, and is there any way to clean them well? If you’re an experienced a/c unit storer, please share your tips and experiences with us! A gezinten winter to all! FISH QUESTION The white layer of cream on your fish may be the fat. If you cook it for too long, the fat can come out of the fish. If you want the fat to stay in the fish and have a delicious buttery fish, you can cook it for just 15 minutes. Make sure the water is boiling hot before adding the slices. I first cook the gefilte fish for almost an hour and a half, and for the last 15 minutes, I add my salmon slices. Once I close the flame, I leave it there until it cools off. Hatzlacha. FISH QUESTION I had the same issue and when I used A&B fish, it stopped happening. TOPIC #187 - BOBBY’S PLAYROOM At my grandmother’s house, the trick is not to have too many toys out. So we have little cars for the little children, the bigger children will find what to do without toys, and some card games. If you don’t have too many toys around, you won’t have a problem cleaning up. FISH QUESTION I want to respond to the lady who asked about the white pieces when she cooks fish. What worked for me was first boiling up the water and then adding the salmon, not putting the salmon into the cool water.
