SEPT 26, ‘25 // QUOTE OF THE WEEK Rabbi Yehuda Sputz “WORRY is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change. TEFILLAH is a conversation you have with Hashem about things He can change.” How often do we find ourselves caught in an endless cycle of inner chatter? A concern surfaces, and our mind begins a dialogue with itself: What if this happens? What if that fails? The heart tightens, and the worry grows heavier with each turn of thought. Yet no matter how many times we replay the scenario in our heads, nothing truly changes. Worry is a self-conversation that drains energy without producing results. Tefillah, on the other hand, is where a Yid stands before Hashem and speaks his heart out. He lifts his burden from the small circle of his own mind into the infinite embrace of the Ribbono Shel Olam. Instead of carrying the load alone, you have placed it into the hands of the One who can truly change outcomes, for Hashem can do anything and nothing is beyond His power. Rabbeinu Bechaye (Devarim 11:13) teaches: “ גדול התפילה כוח כי ,לדעת אתה וצריך הנגזר ולבטל ,הסכנה מן ולהינצל ,הטבע לשנות אפילו”. “You must know that the power of prayer is so great that it can even change the laws of nature, save a person from danger, and annul a harsh decree.” This is a powerful reminder that no situation is beyond hope. Even when all doors appear closed, heartfelt tefillah can open new gates of mercy and bring salvation where none seemed possible. Let us remember: worry keeps us trapped, but tefillah lifts us higher. Every whispered prayer is heard, every tear is counted, and every plea has the power to draw down salvation. Choose tefillah over worry - and watch Hashem open doors you never imagined! Do you have a favorite quote, a comment, or anything else you would like to share?
