JULY 16, ‘25 // QUOTE OF THE WEEK Rabbi Yehuda Sputz “Your talent is Hashem’s gift to you. What you do with it; is your gift to Hashem.” Each of us is born with strengths, talents and capabilities that are not of our own making. Whether it’s a sharp mind, a sensitive heart, a musical ear, or a powerful voice. They are deposits from Above, Matnas chinam min HaShamayim. What you do with that gift is your avodah. Hashem gives us tools — but He waits to see how we’ll use them. Look at the Chofetz Chaim. He had no title, no fanfare — just a pen from Above and a heart full of yiras Shamayim. But he saw it as his mission — his gift to give back. With that simple tool, he changed the way Klal Yisrael speaks, proving that when we use our talents for Hashem, even the smallest effort echoes forever. The maggid, Rav Yaakov Galinsky zt”l, once lay in the hospital Maayanei HaYeshua in Bnei Brak. Harav Aharon Leib Shteinman zt”l came to visit him and said, “You should know — you’re a millionaire!” Rav Galinsky smiled and replied, “I wish! But where’s the money…?” Rav Shteinman explained, that just earlier he had visited a wealthy supporter who was bedridden and said he would trade all his money just to be healthy again and able to move around. “You can walk,” Rav Shteinman said. “That makes you a millionaire.” If you can move, speak, walk, teach — you’re wealthy. The question is: What will you do with that wealth? So everyday, ask yourself: What is my gift to Hashem? How can I use my strengths to bring nachas to Hashem? Because in the end, it’s not about being the best. It’s about giving your best — back to the One who gave it to you. Do you have a favorite quote, a comment, or anything else you would like to share?
